Veterinary nurses and technicians from across Australia will join together to bring awareness to the important work they do during Vet Nurse & Technician Awareness Week this October.
This year’s theme – The future is in your hands – aims to empower veterinary nurses and technicians with key messages around accountability, self-management, education and utilisation of skills, advocacy of self and profession, and goal setting. Daily themes will be released throughout the week and reinforced through communications and online micro-learning units.
On Friday 13 October, as Veterinary Nurses and Technicians Awareness Week draws to a close, we will celebrate with an appreciation day and, of course, announce the winners of the 2023 Veterinary Nurse/Technician and Student Veterinary Nurse/Technician of the Year, proudly sponsored by Hill's and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Celebrate the week in your workplace
- Talk about Veterinary Nurse & Technician Awareness Week with colleagues and clients in your workplace.
- Download, print and display the Veterinary Nurse & Technican Awareness Week poster in your workplace where colleagues and clients can see it.
- Follow the daily themes, have an extra tea break and discuss the topic of the day. Monday: Accountablity, Tuesday: Self-Management, Wednesday: Education & Utilisation, Thursday: Advocacy, Friday: Celebrating your success
- Come to work wearing the daily theme colour: Monday - pink, Tuesday - blue, Wednesday - orange, Thursday - green, Friday - yellow

The recipients of the Veterinary Nurse/Technican of the Year Award and the Student Veterinary Nurse/Technician of the Year Award will be announced on Veterinary Nurse & Technician Appreciation Day.
