Welcome to the Wellness Hub
Working as a veterinary nurse can be a rewarding and dynamic career choice, making a difference to the lives of both patients and clients. However, by its very nature, this work can be challenging and stressful. We know our nurses bring a high level of energy, focus and professionalism to their work, which can take an emotional toll over time.
- Janet Murray,
Each year in October, the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia (VNCA) recognises the important work of veterinary nurses through our annual Vet Nurse Day. This year the VNCA is supporting vet nurses with the creation of the Wellness Hub – a new member benefit.
The Wellness Hub provides resources to help you manage your day, build resilience, reduce stress and work effectively, while managing your mental and physical health. This resource is available to all until Vet Nurse Day on 12 October 2018, then becomes a members-only benefit.
The VNCA is extremely grateful for the support of our 2018-19 Gold / Wellness Hub partner, VetPay.
"The veterinary industry has seen many changes in recent years. One thing that never changes - the need to encourage wellness with vet nurses, given the challenges of their everyday role and the necessity to encourage work-life balance, health and wellbeing. Veterinary nurses are wonderful ambassadors for the VetPay service, as they understand the importance of giving clients an opportunity to help their beloved pets. Nurses are at the forefront of the of the business and must deal with the delicate balance between compassion, ethics, obligation and the sometimes-awkward discussion about money! They do an amazing job and are often ‘the mortar between the bricks’ that holds things together in practice. That is why all of us at VetPay are very honoured to be doing our bit to give back – THANK YOU!"
