AVNAT Registration Scheme Update

Renew now for 2020-2021

The 2020-2021 renewal process marks an important stage in the evolution of the AVNAT Registration Scheme as it is the first opportunity for you to confirm your ongoing commitment to the standards of professional practice and conduct on which your registration is based.

For Registered Veterinary Nurses and Registered Veterinary Technicians:

There are 3 components of the renewal process, all of which must be completed by 1 July 2020.

1.    Payment of your renewal invoice

Your renewal invoice, with payment options, will be issued to you by email by 15 June 2020.

The invoiced amount will be based on your current listing and VNCA membership status.

If you are not already a VNCA member - are you interested in adding VNCA membership to access discounted renewal fees plus a range of member benefits?  If so, please email us at admin@vnca.asn.au so that we can adjust your invoice to reflect this upgrade.

2.    Confirmation of compliance through the Mandatory Declarations

At the time of making your renewal payment, you will be asked to confirm your continued compliance with the AVNAT:

•    Code of Professional Conduct and Ethical Practice
•    Registration Scheme Framework
•    Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Policy
•    Recency of Practice thresholds or Return to Practice Policy
•    Requirement for disclosure of convictions or adverse findings that may call into question fitness to practice

3.    Submission of your completed and planned CPD activities

(a)    Recording your 2019 – 2020 activities in the CPD Tracker

Your CPD activities can be recorded in one of two ways:

•    Using the AVNAT CPD Activity Tracker Form included in your registration kit or available to download online - click here

•    If you are a member of VNCA, using MyCPDTracker online (https://www.vnca.asn.au/membership/mycpdtracker) to add additional CPD activities to the VNCA events for which your attendance has automatically been recorded

For further information regarding your CPD requirements, and the classification of development activities, please refer to the AVNAT Continuing Professional Development Policy at https://www.vnca.asn.au/avnat-registration-scheme-/framework-policies/
