Veterinary nurses are celebrating Vet Nurse Day, in association with International Vet Nurse Day, on Friday 9 October 2020. Vet Nurse Day provides an opportunity for the veterinary industry and veterinary practices to acknowledge the important role that vet nurses perform within the team and reinforces the value and professionalism of veterinary nurses. Veterinary nurses are highly skilled, have ever increasing responsibilities and play a valuable role, whether in surgery, practice administration or consultations. Vet Nurse Day is also a time for grateful pet owners and the wider community to say ‘thank you’ to their local vet nurses for who they are, and what they do best.
Vet Nurse of the Year and Student Vet Nurse of the Year announcements
On Vet Nurse Day, the VNCA will announce the recipients of the Vet Nurse of the Year and the Student Vet Nurse of the Year Awards. These highly valued annual awards acknowledge and celebrate nurses who have provided exceptional service, deliver the highest possible standard of care and occupy a pivotal position in a veterinary health care team.
Vet Nurse Day will also provide an opportunity to celebrate. Veterinary practices across Australia will be observing Vet Nurse Day by decorating practices, sharing a morning tea. Some practices will be celebrating with an open day. It’s anticipated that Instagram and Facebook will be flooded with photos. Tag #VetNurseDay #myVNCA
The VNCA would like to take this opportunity to thank veterinary nurses across Australia for their ongoing support and joins with them in celebrating Vet Nurses Day in 2020.
