• the average number of support staff per vet was 1.9 (full time equivalents).
  • 36% of total respondents had no written terms and conditions of employment whatsoever 
  • the average hourly rate was $13.90 and
  • most of us had an average of $525 additional benefits (seminar/conference, discounted food, services etc)per year

Industrial relations change frequently and now the current Award Modernisation process is nearing completion.  If it is to give informed advice in its representation of veterinary nurses, the VNCA must monitor the realities of the workplace. 

The results of our survey will be published in the New Year.
